Introducing Redshift for Archviz, Maxon's new real-time visualization tool that brings cinematic rendering to architecture by integrating Cinema 4D and Redshift with CAD workflows like Vectorworks. Offering GPU-based, real-time previews, smart object placement, and a library of materials and assets, allowing architects to create immersive walkthroughs and high-end visuals directly inside their existing workflows.

Workflow view of 3D architectural visualization from BIM model to final render

Redshift offers artists even more speed and flexibility to render imaginative worlds with cinematic realism. The 2026.4.0 release introduces the Redshift Live rendering mode, which focuses on performance and allows for quick iteration of materials, lighting, and staging while still providing an accurate representation of final frame results. Redshift Live is available as an alternative to Redshift production in all DCCs and powers the interactive architectural visualization workflows offered in Redshift for Archviz. Additional updates include a new Night sky for Redshift’s Sun & Sky in Cinema 4D and improvements to texture displacement in all DCCs.

Night Sky for Sun and Sky system

For Cinema 4D, Redshift’s Sun and Sky system now includes a night sky with an accurate moon and stars. This allows you to quickly fill in the background of a nighttime scene or create a time-lapse animation across multiple days or weeks, with a complete sky system for any time of day at any location in the world. Match your night sky to whatever conditions you choose – whether your scene should be in the middle of a large city where only the moon is visible, or in a rural desert where the Milky Way and stars can be seen.

Texture Displacement

Watch your vision quickly come to life inside the Redshift IPR (Interactive Preview Renderer) thanks to Texture Displacement. Based on texel density rather than vertex density, this method of displacement minimizes the amount of subdivision levels required. Texture Displacement will now work with polygon selections, so you can apply a material with Texture Displacement only to a part of a mesh. Additionally, it now works with UVs that are outside of the zero-to-one square in the UV Editor.

Dome Light Baking for Procedural Textures

Redshift Dome Lights can now work with procedurally generated textures in all DCCs. In Cinema 4D, baking the Dome Lights works with the Node Editor and does not require the use of XPresso anymore.

Redshift Live mode

Redshift Live is a new rendering mode built for interactive performance and high visual quality. It serves as an alternative to Redshift Production and replaces Redshift RT technology. Designed for real-time visualization and look development on Windows and macOS, Redshift Live uses ultra-fast hardware-accelerated path tracing combined with advanced AI upsampling and denoising to deliver high quality results in real-time.
