Earlier this year, Cinema 4D introduced new features including a Fabric Brush and expanded Cinema 4D to Windows on Arm (WoA) devices, enabling artists to take advantage of power-efficient tablets and laptops to create on the go.
We also revamped its UV Editor to make working with UVs approachable and powerful, allowing artists to handle every aspect of UV creation and adjustment right inside of their favorite 3D software. New distributions for the MoGraph Cloner allow for precise placement of clones on edges, along the outline of polygons, and on the surface of objects based on their UVs. Redshift 2026.8 adds a new Scratches shader ideal for creating worn, brushed, scuffed, and damaged surfaces procedurally and can now add more realism to your sky with a larger variety of cloud types.
The new Particle Property Manager offers an improved workflow for using particle data. It makes simulation properties instantly visible and editable, allowing artists to easily understand which properties exist and adapt their setups accordingly. No more digging in simulation settings required: Simply dock the Particle Property Manager anywhere in your interface to see all your particle properties at a glance and quickly manage and edit it.
Three brand-new Advanced Distributions for the MoGraph cloner allow for precise, responsive placement of clones that were tedious or even impossible to achieve before. Distribute clones on edges with various creative possibilities and no need for complex rigging, place clones along the outline of polygons, or place and animate clones on the surface of objects based on their UVs.
We have redesigned the UV Editor to bring professional UV workflows to Cinema 4D, allowing artists to handle everything from first seam to final pack without touching another application. Game, VFX, and product visualization artists will enjoy seams editing, smart unwrapping, zero overlap packing, texel density, and UDIM support right inside of Cinema 4D. Existing projects open seamlessly without any migration required, providing an uninterrupted workflow.
This new shader is perfect for creating scratch patterns that add realistic surface wear, brushed details, and subtle scuffed imperfections to any material. Its controllable procedural scratch patterns can be routed into the material channels that matter most for the look instead of creating or sourcing a dedicated scratch texture for every asset. Use this shader to make brushed metal or plastic surfaces feel realistic, or add a more natural look to any product visualization and avoid clean surfaces that look too perfect.
The artist-friendly Fabric brush allows you to shape soft materials directly in the viewport with speed and intuitive control. Instantly drape, fold, and sculpt soft objects without wrestling with complex rigs. Whether you are placing curtains, tweaking clothing folds, or shaping packaging, brush geometry into position and let simulation fill in realistic detail.
High Altitude Clouds give environment and lighting artists a more flexible way to build skies with scale, depth, and atmosphere directly in Redshift. Especially useful for outdoor visualization, these cloud formations that sit naturally above the scene will complement existing setups that could only use low-altitude cumulous clouds. Controls for density, altitude, scale, wind, color, anisotropy, and lighting allow artists to shape both the structure and the mood of the cloud layer.
Bring loops to life with the Target Effector’s new Loop option. Whether it’s a radial array or clones on a closed spline, first and last clones now target each other for perfectly seamless circular or looped motion graphics effects.
The new symmetry option for the Bend deformer allows for mirrored bends from a single deformer. Being able to bend symmetrically around the center of an object has been a very common request from our community, as this task used to require several deformers and manual synching of parameters or complex rigging. The new Bend Deformer solves this by simplifying the setup of symmetrical bends and maximizing creative freedom.
