Software Developer - Build Systems & Automation (m/f/d)

What you will do:
As a Software Developer in our Build and Automation team, you will help shape and enhance the automation strategy at Maxon, be it CI pipelines, Build Systems and their optimization, Test Automation or Tooling. This is a chance to support Maxon’s leading software in the 3D space, while working with industry experts in a team of passionate and diverse collaborators: our north stars are performance, stability and providing the best user experience to our developers, QAs and collaborators.
- Design, develop and optimize our CI pipelines for Maxon’s products, using Python and C++
- Maintain and stabilize automation workflows
- Enhance your colleagues’ visibility and usability of automation, from performance improvements to better visualization of data
- Explore solutions to bring Maxon’s automation to the bleeding edge of technology
- Partner with fellow developers, QAs, SDMs and product managers to assess and develop optimal solutions
- Unify tool usage across the company, smoothing out friction and improving convenience and generalization
- Contribute to the team culture by reviewing and suggesting solutions, empowering your peers and advocating in favor of automation
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in building CI pipelines and automated workflows, preferably using Gitlab CI
- Proficiency in Python, with a focus on platform-specific interactions
- Good understanding of C++ and its development toolchain, including CMake; deeper knowledge of compilers and code building optimizations (i. e. Buildcache) is a plus
- Comfort working on MacOS, Windows and Linux environments, including their platform-specific scripting (bash, PowerShell) and configurations
- Knowledge of Docker and containerization
- Working experience of at least one cloud provider and its APIs, preferably MS Azure
- Understanding of graphic pipelines and image manipulation and a passion for the 3D industry are appreciated but not mandatory
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Hunger for performance improvements and continuous optimization
- Ability to interact with a varied group of colleagues, with diverse cultures and technical understanding across multiple time zones
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
