Women in Motion Graphics - Taking Stock A panel discussion hosted by Maxon at this year's NAB Show. A video of the event is available online.

Women in the workforce is an important topic in today’s society – and the motion graphics scene is no exception. This is why Maxon invited six very successful female artists to conduct a panel discussion at this year’s NAB to have an open discourse about the everyday challenges women face as motion graphics professionals.

The panel was moderated by Tuesday McGowan and included artists Penelope Nederlander, Julia Siemón, Caitlin Cadieux, Robyn Haddow and Sarah Wickliffe, who discussed the problems that women face working in the field of 3D. Even though women work in all areas of the industry, they are confronted with very similar problems – whether as a novice or experienced professional. Therefore, an important point that was discussed was how women can get a better start in the industry and how the needs of those just getting started can be better served.

A product – and continuation – of this panel discussion, the Website ‘Women in Motion Graphics’ was started. In addition to detailed information about the panel members, a video of the event as well as useful links are available.
