Particles

Design particle simulations intuitively with Cinema 4D Particles! Integration with C4D’s Unified Simulation system allows artists to control emission patterns, modify behaviors precisely, and orchestrate interactions with Maxon’s collection of simulation types, including Pyro, Cloth, soft bodies, and rigid bodies. Thanks to the improved integration with the MoGraph toolset, emitters and forces can be duplicated easily via the Cloner. Users also gain more control over particle attraction around the surface of objects, as well as collision and color of particles emitted from other particles. Custom properties and the Particle Node Modifier allow for precise control over particle behavior, enabling users to fine-tune their simulation.

Thanks to Emission Density Control, Maxon Noises, Fields, and Vertex Maps can be used to define exactly where and how many particles are going to be created. Many Particle Modifiers offer new Custom Property output options to store data, such as neighbor count, chasing/fleeing state or distance to antagonist for predator/prey particles. And thanks to Viewport Handles, you can now interactively control emitter shapes and velocity directly in the Viewport, without the need to find the respective parameters in the Attribute Manager!

Cinema 4D 2025.3 introduces powerful new Liquid Simulations, designed to take your motion graphics or product and VFX shots to the next level. These simulations are deeply integrated with our Particle System and share the same workflows and support all the forces, modifiers, and conditions. Artists can seamlessly switch between particle and fluid behavior and back. Liquids can bidirectionally interact with other simulation types such as rigid body, soft body or cloth. Both the liquid solver and mesher run on the GPU for maximum performance. Properties such as viscosity, surface tension, and more can be controlled to define how a liquid behaves, allowing artists to simulate water, honey, lava, or other fluid types – and even transition between them. A dedicated Liquid Fill Emitter can be used to fill any object with liquid, while the new Liquify Modifier can turn any particle into a liquid.

Render particles scenes with Redshift, or cache and export them via Alembic. New Cinema 4D Particles presets are available in the Asset Browser, giving artists creative options for starting any project. New presets will be added continuously.
