Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

Bad Homburg (Metropolitan Area Frankfurt), Germany

What you will do:

As part of our legal team, you will interact with various teams across the company including Operations, Product Management, Marketing, HR, Engineering and Sales. You will join the Legal Team at our HQ in Bad Homburg, Germany.

Lead complex contract drafting and negotiations, including enterprise agreements, software licensing, technology transfer, and AI-related agreements, while advising the business on legal risk, compliance, and strategic decision-making
Play an active role in interdisciplinary projects aligned with Maxon’s business objectives by conducting legal analysis, assessing risks, and developing practical, solution-oriented recommendations in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel
Identify and escalate high-risk or high-impact matters appropriately, ensuring timely involvement of senior leadership and supporting informed business decisions
Drive legal process improvements by developing internal policies, templates, and workflows while partnering closely with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior legal team members

What we are looking for:

An LLB/JD or equivalent degree in law and 7+ years of relevant experience
Expertise in contract law and software licensing
Strong understanding of intellectual property, AI and technology laws
Fluent written and spoken English
Skill in providing pragmatic legal advice, having business know-how and can support the business in a practical and compliant manner
You are organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and can work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

NICE TO HAVE

A high level of interest in technology
Experience working in an international environment
A good understanding of the creative industry
German language fluency
Active bar membership in your local jurisdiction

Salary Range*:
EUR 90,000 – 125,000 annually

*Salaries at Maxon are based on a candidate's specific criteria including experience, skillset, education and location. Maxon uses industry-driven survey data for building compensation structures to make sure our employees are receiving fair and competitive wages.
