Maxon Congratulates Cantina Creative on Silver Telly Award Map made with C4D played a crucial role in Amazon Studios’ ‘Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.’

Cantina Creative has received a Silver Telly Award for exceptional use of animation for the map of Arda they created for the epic Amazon Studios series “Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.” Made using Cinema 4D, Substance Painter, and Arnold, the photorealistic map played a key role in the show, guiding viewers through Middle Earth and across the Sundering Seas.

Honoring excellence in video and television across all screens, the Telly Awards is judged by leaders in video, television, streaming networks, and production companies and recognizes work that pushes the boundaries of creativity “Beyond the Frame.” Winners were chosen from nearly 13,000 entries from around the globe.

As a VFX studio filled with hardcore LOTR fans, Cantina was uniquely positioned to create a map that was sure to pass muster with Tolkien fans and serve as an authentic aspect of the series’ storyline. (Read the Maxon case study.)
