What you will do:
As the Director of Software Engineering, you will lead Maxon’s talented engineering teams, driving the development of innovative software solutions tailored to the needs of our global creative community. You will play a key role in shaping technical strategies, cultivating innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of robust, high-performance products. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of digital content creation.
- Support, invest in and develop incredible teams of talented and motivated engineering managers, setting clear expectations via practices such as 1:1s, goal setting, and constant feedback
- Attract, develop and retain top talent
- Provide strategic updates and recommendations to top management, aligned with organizational goals
- Closely align with Product Management and Product Design to successfully execute the product vision
- Create growth opportunities for team members while addressing skill gaps through mentoring and performance management. Coach, resolve conflicts and take corrective action when necessary
- Cultivate a high-performing, positive work environment founded on transparency, accountability and trust
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Professional experience in the area of Computer Graphics or Media & Entertainment (mandatory)
- Proven track record in leadership roles, with five to seven years of experience managing software engineering teams
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and grow team members while fostering collaboration and innovation
- Fluent in business English, with excellent communication skills
- A strongly pro-active mindset
- Passion for managing people, improving their work environment and building effective teams
- Strong prioritization skills and proven track record to deliver projects on time and with quality
- Deep working knowledge in the area of 3D content creation or video processing or mobile platforms
