Motion North, Manchester

Motion North is a Manchester based group of motion designers, animators, filmmakers and VFX artists residing in the upper regions of the UK. They've been meeting for over a decade to share a love of making things move.

Sian Warren is a Creature Modeler with almost a decade of experience, working for large VFX houses like ILM London, MPC Film character Lab, Trixter and more.  

She has worked on a broad range of species; alive, extinct and alien for films, advertising, tv production and realtime. Her work includes publications for the  Society of Vertebrate Palaeontology in collaboration with Professor of Biology Dr. Stuart Sumida, and the Natural History Museum. Recent credits include “Monarch Season 2,” “The Dinosaurs,” and “Mufasa: The Lion King.” She is now working as a Freelance Senior Creature Artist at Taken Media Arts, Facts Dinosaurs, Exetinct and also creates educational model tutorials for FXPHD and Maxon ZBrush. 

In this presentation, Sian will discuss the importance reference and how artists can benefit from exploring scientific research to strengthen their design process in order to create realistic creatures using ZBrush.
