Stadiums, Dunes and Maxon Cinema 4D image

Stadiums, Dunes and Maxon Cinema 4D HHVISION studios use Cinema 4D to design the stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

The announcement of the venue for an upcoming FIFA World Cup casts a long shadow with regard to planning and preparation. This is especially true for the FIFA World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. Even before the nod went to Qatar, their submission itself caused quite a stir in many places - including the offices of architects Albert Speer & Partner (AS & P), who was given the commission of creating conceptual designs for stadiums to be built in Qatar.

Still images of the stadiums had to be rendered in large format for various presentations but also had to be used in the creation of a five-minute animated visualization. AS & P turned to HHVISION and its team of specialists for the creation of this visualization.

The source files, which were created using the architecture software Allplan, was easily imported into Cinema 4D and integrated into highly complex scenes. Since not only the stadiums had to be visualized but also the environment around each one, including greenery, parking lots, vehicles, surrounding terrain, bodies of water and hundreds of visitors, the decision was made to use proxies (instances that reference higher resolution source objects). This made it easier to work with scenes in the Viewport's real-time viewing mode (OpenGL). It was also possible to adapt the complexity of the scene to the available system resources for the final render process.

To achieve the desired results within the deadline, the team at HHVISION took advantage of numerous Cinema 4D features, in particular MoGraph, the Layer Manager, the Stage object and the Surface Spread plugin.

This made it possible for HHVISION to beat the deadline and finish the project to the client's complete satisfaction. It can be assumed that the outstanding visualizations created with Cinema 4D had a positive influence on the committee's decision.
