Senior IT Support Specialist (m/f/d)

  • Location: Bad Homburg (Metropolitan Area Frankfurt), Germany

What you will do:

  • Responsible for supporting end-user equipment according to Maxon guidelines
  • Demonstrate expert support skills in both Windows and OSX environments, Mobile device and Tablet
  • Provide intermediate support for Linux users
  • Showcase advanced hardware troubleshooting proficiency and maintain robust skills in troubleshooting end-user issues in Active Directory
  • Have expert level support skills for M365 and provide networking troubleshooting support
  • Demonstrate advanced network troubleshooting skills for end-users, resolving issues or escalating them appropriately
  • Utilize advanced skills in switching administration, including VLAN assignments
  • Provide support for servers, including patching and updating per procedures
  • Perform basic administration tasks like network connectivity
  • Execute backup tasks following established procedures
  • Administer the assets management system jointly with Administrators
  • Triage and escalate support tickets properly and provide support in resolving tickets
  • Address recurrent issues in Zendesk FAQ and Confluence
  • Process logs and contribute to project tasks and IT Support Processes
  • Actively participate in various IT projects
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues in IT and end-users for support and provide valuable planning input. Also escalate and channel issues properly

What we are looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in supporting end-users in various IT environments
  • Jedi-level expertise in end-user hardware support, assembly, and troubleshooting
  • 2+ years of networking experience or a CompTIA Network+ certificate or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in cabling installation and troubleshooting
  • Dependable and communicable team player
  • Reliable, task-resolution oriented, with a sense of responsibility and a quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to mentor and guide peers and junior support team members
  • Ability to work independently and multitask and focus on priority issues on short notice
  • Ability to understand and communicate IT support topics clearly to end users and peers
  • Very good communication and English language skills
