BUG FIXES

  • The "Render Frame" set in the Render Settings panel was previously ignored on reload of a project. This has been fixed.
  • When the Cineware panels were iconised they had the default panel icon. They now have their own panel icons.
  • If multiple instances of the same scene were loaded in a project and cameras were edited, these edits could get out of sync between instances. This has been fixed.
  • The 'no material' swatch (white square with a red line) now correctly removes the material from an object.
  • Highlighting of some buttons was missing during user events, this has been fixed.
  • Some undo events reported errors and did not restore the scene to the previous state. This was most prevalent when deleting a material from an object. This has been fixed.
  • On reloading a saved project sometimes the Cinema4D scene structure panel would be empty, this has been fixed.
  • Right mouse button events in a Cineware panel would bring up a confusing popup offering to "Print" or "View Source", this no longer occurs.
  • Some error messages were confusing and failed to correctly detail the problem or a possible solution. These have been improved.
  • Textures created in Illustrator and applied to materials would sometimes disappear without being deleted. This has been fixed.
  • Texture names have been corrected so they match their label when exported to Cinema 4D.
  • Illustrator would crash during exit in some instances following the use of Cineware for Illustrator, this has been fixed.
  • Copying Cinema 4D files between open Illustrator documents would frequently cause broken links to textures. This has been fixed.
  • In some instances the Cineware panels could not be resized on Windows, this has been fixed.
  • In some scenes the material panel would show as empty though the file contained materials. This has been fixed.
  • Relabeleing a piece of art in an Illustrator project with Cineware for Illustrator installed, but not actively in use, could cause Illustrator to crash. This has been fixed.
  • The UI of the material attributes panel has been made easier to read.
  • If more than one Illustrator document was open at the same time, and both had Cineam4D files in use that also used artwork from within the projects the art used between the documents could get mixed up and the wrong texture would be applied. This has been fixed.
  • The "No Material" icon was incorrectly shown in the Material Panel. This has been fixed.

NEW FEATURES

This is the first release of Cineware for Illustrator.
All features are detailed in the accompanying documentation.

BUG FIXES

Using the eraser tool in Illustartor leads to an error. Using the eraser tool in Illustrator on a piece of art that is used within the Cinema 4D scene as a texture input invalidates the texture. Workaround : The texture must be re-applied by selecting all the pieces of the newly cut up artwork.

Switching between multiple files in Illustrator mixes up the materials. If multiple Illustrator files are open in the same running instance of Illustrator and artwork is applied from each document to the Cinema 4D file in the form of a texture these can become ‘mixed up’ on the renderer. Workaround : Ensure that each document is saved before starting to apply textures to the Cinema 4D artwork. This is only necessary if multiple files are open and all are unsaved.

Packaged file should also drag along the textures. When packaging an Illustrator document, the applied artwork is not included in the packaged document. Workaround : None. Please manually collate the ‘tex’ folder that can be found next to each of the Cinema 4D files on the disk. Then copy these folders with the packaged Illustrator file.

Illustrator textures don't transfer to new documents. Cinema 4D artwork that is copied and pasted within an Illustrator document to another Illustrator document will not be copied across correctly. Workaround : Manually copy the respective artwork to the new file and re-link the textures to the material.
