Because the trailer's desired look and the way in which various key product features should be visualized would have taken longer to complete and been much more difficult to create using traditional film methods, it was quickly decided to complete the entire project in full CG using CINEMA 4D.The pen and graphics tablet were easily modelled, textured and lit in CINEMA 4D. Objects to which the camera came closer were modeled in greater detail than other objects, which helped to speed up overall render times. It was a challenge to animate the movement of the pen as realistically as possible. Thanks to CINEMA 4D's outstanding keyframe control and excellent Timeline functionalities this task was able to be mastered seamlessly.
All shots were rendered across four Dual Core Apple systems and the network render module, NET Render, proved to be very efficient during this process.
"CINEMA 4D's speed and stability, combined with the excellent connectivity to Adobe After Effects, ensured an efficient and smooth project workflow. Things worked as you would expect them to", explained Robert Hranitzky.
In the post production phase, all Multi-Pass rendering shots were composited using Adobe After Effects. Additional elements such as the monitor graphics were added and fine-tuned with respect to movement and depth-of-field.
