Audi TT Trailer: Rendered Steel
September 2006 saw the introduction of Audi's next-generation TT sports coupe. Schönheitsfarm's job was to integrate the 35mm film of the coupe into a CG environment.

The aim of this trailer was to create a two-minute film in which the coupe's design and driving dynamics were to be showcased - a so-called "emotion trailer". The spot was to reflect the look of the already finished print campaign - minimalist and monochrome. The environment (world) in which the car was integrated was created digitally. The only "real" object was the car itself, which was filmed and subsequently added to the 3D environment.

All landscapes and all highway sequences were designed and modeled using CINEMA 4D. "We used MoGraph to create a kind of Ôcity generator'" explains Kay Tennamann, a freelance artist for Schönheitsfarm responsible for this scene. "This let us create a city more or less automatically and only a few parameters were needed to edit it."

Structures that appeared very near to the camera were modeled using traditional methods and subsequently placed into the scene. All city sequences were then rendered in CINEMA 4D.
