Leading Italian tile manufacturer uses CINEMA 4D to showcase its products.

Prior to the use of CINEMA 4D each scene had to be set up, lit and photographed separately in a photo studio. Each scene had to be disassembled before the next could be set up. In addition to being a very time-consuming and cost-intensive method of production, all sets were irrevocably lost after being disassembled. In contrast, a 3D environment can be used over and over again and a virtual product prototype can be used instead of a real prototype.Booking a photo studio, including setup, lighting, etc. can run anywhere from EUR 6,000 to EUR 10,000 per day. Using CINEMA 4D on the other hand makes creating such a presentation much easier, faster and much more cost-effective.
Creating the ideal illumination was important to be able showcase the special character and beauty of these products: Large tiles with over-sized floral motifs which, when lit correctly, greatly enhanced the look of the room in which they were used. With CINEMA 4D we were able to complete the entire project within the two-week deadline we were given.
Due to the tiles' unique surface structure, the opacity of certain materials and the lighting characteristics of some interior design elements, lighting the entire scene correctly in a photo studio would have been complex and laborious. For example, the lighting used to illuminate the walls could not simultaneously be used to properly illuminate the furnishings.Thanks to CINEMA 4D's Multi-Pass rendering capabilities we were able to solve this problem digitally. A separate pass was rendered for each light and subsequently fine-tuned for print in the post-production phase.
The successful completion of this project led to additional projects that were also completed using CINEMA 4D.
