MAXON ADDS DEPTH TO BODYPAINT 3D'S ROBUST TOOLSET
On the eve of its 20th anniversary, MAXON is pleased to announce the upcoming availability of BodyPaint 3D Release 3. With this powerful new release, MAXON expands its multi award-winning 3D painting and UV editing software to include breathtaking 16 and 32 bit image manipulation capabilities, as well as UV LSCM Pelt mapping and several other key advancements. Improved features and continued integration with Maya, 3ds Max, SoftImage, and LightWave converge to push BodyPaint 3D forward as an indispensable tool for artists everywhere.
MAXON, October 4, 2006 - More than ever before, BodyPaint 3D R3 enables artists to achieve incredible textural subtlety with 16 and 32 bit depth painting. This makes it possible to create softer gradations with a palette that can comfortably hold an extreme range of contrasts with intricate detail. The enhanced functionality delivers an ideal solution for working with HDRI files such as .HDR and .EXR in the immediate context of the 3D scene.
With BodyPaint 3D R3, artists can eliminate much of the difficulty and tedium of unwrapping UV coordinates from complex meshes by using LCSM mapping. Improved Relax UV algorithms elegantly interpret the full range of geometric object curvatures into UV maps that are ready to paint on. Added tools such as path selection make it possible to select seams and refine a UV mesh with ease.
BodyPaint 3D R3 also provides flexibility with direct Projection Painting exchange to Photoshop. To aid in resolution depth and consistency, new tools allow users to change the pixel aspect ratio and freeze view to the desired resolution.
In addition, BodyPaint 3D has inherited the features from its sister application, CINEMA 4D to become a complete modeling, painting and UV editing solution.
