Hubble Space Telescope Celebrates 15th Anniversary

The ESA (European Space Agency) Hubble Information Center created an exclusive full-length DVD film with the help of CINEMA 4D

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope is one of the biggest scientific projects of all time and is approaching the 15th anniversary of its launch. To mark the event on April 24, 2005, the European Space Agency is presenting a series of unique activities in collaboration with partners all over Europe. These include an exclusive, full-length DVD film, which has become one of the most widely distributed documentary films ever. Planetariums across Europe show this film in Full Dome Projection.

85% of the animated material on the DVD was created with CINEMA 4D.

Art Director and Production Designer Martin Kornmesser about the work with CINEMA 4D:

"We worked under great time pressure, and with tight deadlines on a daily basis. With the help of CINEMA 4D and its excellent compatibility with Adobe After Effects we were able to meet these challenges. With MAXON's Net Renderer, we were, at times, able to complete full animation sequences within a single day. The ease of use of these applications also made it possible to continuously update and develop individual animations as new ideas arose."
