Der Stern, 3D IllustrationenStern is GermanyÕs largest tabloid magazine. 3D Illustrations are an excellent method for the Stern to demonstrate complex information.

"Der Stern" has traditionally used illustrations or drawings in its publication. Until the early 90's the 'drawing department' worked with airbrush techniques and traditional artist's brushes. The advantages of 3D software became clear As Macs were introduced into the editorial and Infographic (formerly the drawing dept.). We could achieve much cleaner results and were able to alter an illustration's perspective or look how and when we wished.
We use CINEMA 4D whenever possible. Large and complex informational graphics can take one to three days to complete but the investment has paid off:
Our readers really like 3D graphics. 3D graphics are attention getters. The informational graphics serve not only as a nice addition to the content, but also offer the possibility to better convey content or a situation of a more complex nature when photography is not an option.
The next step for us is to use animated 3D graphics for the web. We're working on it..."
