CINEMA 4D

Technical Information

The most current version is MAXON CINEBENCH R10 (August 1, 2007)

The minimum system requirements are:
One or more of the supported CPUs (see list), running at a minimum clock speed of 1 GHz in total, a graphics card that supports OpenGL in 1024 x 768 pixels screen resolution and 512 MB of RAM.

Even though MAXON CINEBENCH R10 may start and run on smaller systems that do not meet the minimum system requirements, the results displayed may be incorrect.

What do the results tell?
MAXON CINEBENCH uses a wide set of commands and CPU instructions to run the tests. Therefore the benchmark results are a good indicator not only for CINEMA 4D users looking for a powerful computer, but for anyone who is looking for a system running all kinds of CPU and graphics card intense tasks. A machine with a high CB score will also perform well when running other types of processor demanding applications.

CINEMA 4D users of course benefit largely from MAXON CINEBENCH. The benchmark results can directly be correlated with CINEMA 4D. If a system has a 20% higher CB in rendering, this machine will also perform ~20% better in everyday work with CINEMA 4D (depending on actual scene requirements, the factor may vary slightly).

Graphics cards' results are (unfortunately) not always comparable 1:1. The performance of a graphics card relies extremely on a number of other parameters, such as CPU speed and driver version among others. The same graphics card in conjunction with different processors result in different CB values.

It also plays a certain role, whether you have switched off all background processes (such as virus protection, networking etc.) during the test period, or if you continued to use the computer in whatever way. Even not so CPU intensive tasks like listening to MP3s, checking e-mail, surfing webpages oir waching the task monitor may falsify the benchmark results.
