An efficient workflow and well thought out features make your life easier.

  • User-Friendly

CINEMA 4D is known for its ease of use and R14 continues in this tradition!

Workflow

CINEMA 4D R14 offers amazing enhancements to exchanges with key applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Nuke. You can manipulate 3D objects, lights and textures directly in Adobe Photoshop. New options have been added for exchanging your 3D scene with After Effects. A new seamless connection to NUKE has been added that automatically creates your multi-pass composite through multi-layer OpenEXR support.

Camera Matching

Match your 3D camera to virtually any image with the Camera Calibrator in CINEMA 4D R14. Simply draw lines or grids on top of the image, and the vanishing point, focal length and orientation of the camera will be calculated. Add a pin to solve the camera’s position, and set the Project scale by adding known lengths for any line. Quickly create a background object or generate a camera mapping tag to begin using the image as part of a matte environment.

Nuke Exchange

Quickly begin compositing your 3D creations in Nuke by The Foundry with full support for multi-layer OpenEXR files and the option to save a Nuke script containing an optimal node layout to reconstruct your Multi-Pass render. Use the optional FBX export to transfer 3D cameras, lights and geometry as well, or simply render a Position Pass to reconstruct 3D information.

Alembic

Alembic is a 3D open source exchange format developed by Lucasfilm and Sony Pictures Imageworks and is based on common 3D elements across multiple platforms: Animated geometry, particles and splines. Alembic's primary benefit is the loss-free transfer of animated geometry to external applications. This makes Alembic an ideal exchange format for complex project pipelines.

Improved After Effects Connectivity

Enjoy enhanced integration with Adobe After Effects, with the option to directly import and export native CINEMA 4D files. Skip saving a separate .aec exchange file and simply import cameras, lights and solids directly from your scene. Also, choose which cameras and lights are included in the After Effects comp within each object’s attributes.

Photoshop Exchange in 3D

Open and manipulate your CINEMA 4D scenes directly within Adobe Photoshop Extended, and adjust the texturing, lighting and viewpoint to perfectly fit your concept and composition. With this new exchange plugin you can load any .c4d file into a Photoshop 3D layer. Add 3D elements to photos, tweak product visualizations while designing ads, or work out storyboards and matte paintings.
