• Ease of Use

Abstract concepts can be used to make your images and animations better. CINEMA 4D on the other hand offers clear and concise usability.

  • Ready for Anything

Even the most complex procedures can be easily mastered using the node-based XPresso Expressions.

  • State-of-the-Art

A continuously improved interface lets you keep everything in the right perspective.

Interface

Work faster and smarter with numerous enhancements to the workflow and interface in CINEMA 4D R14. You’ll enjoy the more attractive and responsive 3D view with new object highlighting and outlining, and improved OpenGL shadows. Easily access commands and add tags using the new spotlight-style Commander. New composition helpers have been added to arrange your scene based on grids or golden spirals, and you can easily choose the focal distance with the new camera focus picker. Arabic speakers will especially enjoy the CINEMA 4D interface in their native language including a specially-designed right-to-left layout mode.

OpenGL Improved

Witness more accurate shadows with improved speed and quality with enhanced OpenGL in CINEMA 4D Release 14. Smooth soft shadows are now displayed in OpenGL, eliminating the harsh edges on hard shadows in prior releases.

Camera Composition Helpers

Compose your scene more easily with new Composition Helpers for each camera object. Easily overlay grids, diagonals, triangles, golden sections, golden spirals and crosshairs, with unique settings for each camera. Define custom colors for each line type as well as other options, and the lines will appear any time the camera is active.

Camera Focus Picker

Quickly choose the focus distance of a camera with the new focus picker, and achieve outstanding depth-of-field with CINEMA 4D’s Physical Renderer. Simply activate the tool and click on any surface within the view, and the focus distance will be automatically set to the distance between the camera and that surface.

Commander

Dramatically speed your workflow with the Commander, a filtered search box that appears directly under the cursor. Launch the Commander with a customizable keyboard shortcut and simply type a few letters of a command, object or tag name. Choose the desired option with the arrow keys and hit enter to execute the command, activate the tool, create the object or apply the chosen tag to all selected objects. Don’t worry about searching the menus for a specific option, just let Commander do the job.

To Do List

Manage tasks within a scene for yourself or your team using the new To Do List. Apply a To Do tag to any object to create a task note, or add a task note to any timeline marker. Review and edit tasks within the To Do tab of the Project Settings.

Animation Path

Focus on specific aspects of your animation with improved Animation Path display in the view. Adjust the preview range, and only the animation path within the range will be displayed.

Sound Curves

Tweak animation and perfect sync with audio by displaying a sound waveform in the background of the F-Curve window.

XRefs

Integrate multiple Project files within a single project and maximize your team’s efforts with improved XRefs. Offset the animation, scale or pivot of each referenced Project within the XRef attributes. Store changes to points, parameters and PSR data as absolute values or relative to the referenced scene. Control which objects or layers are included from each scene in the master file.

Arabic Interface and Layout

Arabic speakers can now use CINEMA 4D in their native language, with new Arabic interface translation and a mirrored layout.

XPresso

Link object attributes within a streamlined and more elegant XPresso interface, with rounded edges, smooth anti-aliased lines and curved connections between ports. Create Expressions quickly by dragging individual parameters from the Attribute Manager to create input or output ports. Quickly discern which attributes drive others, or are driven by others, with modified keyframe dots. Debug and optimize complex Expressions with the new Performance View. Utilize new Nodes to sample the animation value at a specific frame, or to exert more control over dynamic objects and simulations.
