Great Pictures, Great Stories: National Geographic's "Biblica"

CINEMA 4D helps creating "Biblica".

The Bible: The word of God, holy scriptures and the Book of books. No other stories are better known than those of the Old and New Testament. National Geographic's new online special presentation, "Biblica", takes you on an exciting journey to historic biblical places and their principal biblical figures. The viewer is immersed into biblical times and can experience stories from the Bible firsthand. Ancient stories that are breathtakingly presented with large resolution images make for an exciting and fascinating experience.



For the realization of this project, large-format cinematics in the style of such films as "300" had to be digitally created. From the very first conceptual stage on, Effekt-Etage worked hand-in-hand with the agency responsible for completing this impressive project, marke23, by passing on their know-how and consulting with marke23 whenever necessary. The realization of this project also required the supervision of linguistic localization and the recording of music tracks. The complex 3D animations and 2D visualizations were created by Effekt-Etage's own digital artists. CINEMA 4D's Advanced Render and Sketch and Toon modules were used to create the hand-drawn look.

The mystical look was created in the elaborate compositing stage. Finally, all elements were combined by Effekt-Etage to create the fascinating Flash presentation of National Geographic's "Biblica".
