Shanghai Imagehost Digital Technology (IHDT) used CINEMA 4D to create an interactive Web site for FIAT Automotive.

When FIAT introduced three of its models to the Chinese market in 2008 they also needed a Chinese-language Web site to promote these vehicles. It was decided that an interactive Web site would give customers a better feel for the cars.

As one of the most popular applications for industrial design and product visualization, CINEMA 4D is also the application of choice for IHDT. CINEMA 4D was used to model all cars, with photos and blueprints as reference material. CINEMA 4D's easy-to-use lighting and material system greatly sped up workflow for the IHDT team and the Advanced Render module quickly produced high-quality render results.

The animated vehicles were rendered as Multi-Pass layers and combined with Flash for integration into the actual Web site. The interactive Web site lets visitors rotate the vehicles, change a vehicle's color or view specific details of that vehicle.
The team at IHDT was especially impressed with CINEMA 4D's MoGraph module and the advantages it offers compared to traditional particle systems - while at the same time offering the same visual results. For example, the rain drops in the animation featuring the Punto were created with the MoGraph module.
