dirty textures I find a quick an simple way to add dirt to a surface is to create a material with specks in the genlock channel and whatever color dirt you want in the color channel (this can be done without a color map, you can
simply choose black, or brown, or dusty grey in the color picker). In your case you would probably want to draw or scan the genlock map yourself, but in a pinch or for very large surfaces, procedurals work well:take the clouds shader, genlock out the one of the colors, and turn the dr, dg, and db sliders up until you all you are left with are a few specks of color (I sure wish these sliders could somehow be moved in unison) Then slap this on your object, and, voila!
