wood textures Try using the marble 2D shader and layer a couple iterations with very dark colours (browns range of course) using the additive method. Change the settings slightly from each other and then add a bit of noise
as well. I forget the good settings, but turn down the turbulence and scale on one axis to elongate the pattern. I have gotten some very nice wood that way. If you are trying to duplicate a particular wood then it
is not so easy, but if you are trying to get a good general wood (of course there is some control there) it works just fine for stills which are more demanding.
